There are 120 Prospecting missions scattered around the universe, with an average of four missions per system. For each mission, you need to identify (with a mineral scanner) 30 roids asteroids containing a mineral the station chooses. Doing all 120 missions unlocks the best mining [[Mining#Equipment|equipment]].
