==Conventions==

The accepted rule of thumb when dueling includes the following:
Players seeking either type of duel typically congregate in Sedina B8.  Swarms and other fire-and-forget weapons are frowned on.  Running or otherwise avoiding inevitable death is seen as dishonorable.
==Formal Duels==

#Opponents must have a starting distance of 1000m. Premature starts can result in a resetting of distance or a forfit of duel.
Formal duels are initiated with /duel commands. The first player to die or leave the sector loses. If either player takes damage from a ship not engaged in the duel, the duel is automatically aborted.  Faction penalties are never awarded for killing your dueling opponent.   Pilots in the middle of a duel are displayed as light blue blips on radar.
#Any requests as to ship type/weapon loadout from either side must be honored.
#Docking to rearm/repair and warping out of a sector are regarded as a loss for that pilot.
#An issue in any form, be it from collision or self inflicted damage is regarded as a loss for that pilot.
#If at any point a ship not involved in the duel fires on or damages any ship, that ship should be destroyed (if possible) by the duelists.<br>

Dueling can refer either informal consensual 1v1s or an in-game 1v1 rating system.

Conventions

Players seeking either type of duel typically congregate in Sedina B8. Swarms and other fire-and-forget weapons are frowned on. Running or otherwise avoiding inevitable death is seen as dishonorable.

Formal Duels

Formal duels are initiated with /duel commands. The first player to die or leave the sector loses. If either player takes damage from a ship not engaged in the duel, the duel is automatically aborted. Faction penalties are never awarded for killing your dueling opponent. Pilots in the middle of a duel are displayed as light blue blips on radar.
